TL;DR
  • Pearson Airport to Niagara Falls is 145 km
  • Fastest: private transfer 90 min, CAD 220 for 4
  • Cheapest: UP Express + GO Train CAD 30 per person
  • No direct shuttle bus from YYZ to Niagara
  • Avoid renting a car for less than a 3 night stay

Option 1: Private transfer (the easy default)

Pre book online via Niagara Airbus, Stretch Limo Niagara or one of the airport approved operators. CAD 200 to 250 for up to 4 passengers in a sedan, CAD 300 to 350 for an SUV or larger group. Door to door, you choose the time. Driver waits in arrivals with a name sign.

Option 2: Rental car (the flexible)

All major rental brands have desks at Pearson. CAD 70 to 130 per day for a compact, plus fuel (CAD 60 fill up at the falls), tolls (CAD 12 for the QEW Express toll lanes if you use them) and parking at the falls (CAD 27 per day). Best for groups of 4+ staying multiple nights.

Option 3: Public transit (the cheap)

UP Express train from Pearson to Union Station (25 minutes, CAD 12.35), then GO Train to Niagara Falls VIA station (2 hours 10 minutes, CAD 15.50). Total CAD 28 per person, takes 3 to 4 hours including transfer wait. GO Train to Niagara runs only Fri to Sun in summer (May 24 to Sep 1, 2026).

Option 4: Shuttle bus (the budget compromise)

Niagara Airbus runs scheduled shuttles from Pearson directly to Niagara Falls hotels. CAD 100 to 130 per person, 4 to 6 daily departures, takes 2 to 2.5 hours including stops at other hotels. Booking required.

Border crossing note

If you fly into Buffalo (BUF) instead, the airport is 32 km from Niagara Falls, all options halve in time and cost. But you cross into Canada via Rainbow Bridge or Queenston-Lewiston Bridge, so all passengers need passports.
