What you actually see on the ride
The boat leaves the dock at the base of the Niagara Gorge and heads upstream past the American Falls. You feel the spray from the Bridal Veil Falls, then the captain noses the bow into the basin of the Horseshoe Falls. The water you stand in is the spillover from the falls, around 600,000 US gallons per second. Total time on the water is about 20 minutes, the rest is queueing.
What to bring
- Plastic bag for your phone or camera, the spray will soak it through the poncho
- Hair tie for long hair, the wind is strong on the upper deck
- Closed shoes, the deck is slippery
- Quick dry layer underneath the poncho, you will still feel damp afterwards
